Materials Used for Production of X-CoreTM Wheels
The X-CoreTM carbon fiber wheel can be manufactured using the following materials:
Enduro II: Fiber Reinforce Composite This is a glass fiber reinforced material. It is heavier than carbon fiber.
Enduro Pro II: Carbon Fiber Composite This material is lighter and stronger than fiber reinforce composites.

X-CoreTM Carbon Fiber Wheel Design
The wheels have been designed as a single piece. The removal of wire spokes makes the wheels look aesthetically pleasing, while making it easier to clean, maintain, handle, and remove. X-CoreTM: 20ʺ 5-Spoke Carbon Fiber Wheel for Wheelchairs
The 5-spoke X-CoreTM carbon fiber wheel manufactured by Custom Engineered Wheels Inc. (CEW) provides limitless possibilities. These wheels used for wheelchairs provide impeccable performance and design features. The 20” (451 mm) 5-Spoke wheel features a new hub design with a radii hub improving overall appearance of the wheel.
The material used to manufacture this wheel is far superior to the generic carbon fiber material. The process of lost core molding is used to manufacture these wheels in a single piece.
A fiber reinforced composite known as ‘Enduro II’ is used. This material is a glass fiber reinforced material, which is heavier but less expensive than carbon fiber. It provides the durability and strength of carbon fiber without the added cost. The materials used are at least three times stronger than steel and aluminum making it long lasting and resistant to wear and tear.
